Please scroll down to see the before and after shots of this lens
infected with fungus. The rear surface of this huge portrait lens was
completely covered with both sheet and web fungus. The Fungus was so advanced that
this once fine lens was now good for nothing more than a paperweight. This lens
required complete disassembly and four and a half hours of intensive fungus
removal. Fortunately in this case all of the fungus was killed. All signs of it
ever existing are gone now and the glass is very bright and crystal clear. This
was a very happy ending for this job. Sorry I do not have more examples but I
never had any reason to photograph this before.
